How this is calculated
Umm al-Qura is the official calendar of Saudi Arabia and is used for civil dates across the Gulf. Religious dates such as the start of Ramadan follow the moon sighting announced in each country, which can be a day earlier or later. Conversion runs in your browser on its built-in Umm al-Qura calendar.
Dates use the Umm al-Qura calculation. Dates announced after a local moon sighting may be a day earlier or later.

Questions
Which Hijri calendar does it use?
Umm al-Qura by default, the official calculated calendar of Saudi Arabia, used for civil dates across the Gulf. You can choose the tabular Islamic calendar instead. Every result names its method, and religious dates in each country follow its own moon sighting announcement.
Why might a date be one day out?
Months in many countries start when the new moon is sighted, which can differ from the calculation by a day. Check religious holidays against your local announcement.
How many days are in a Hijri month?
29 or 30. The Hijri year has 354 or 355 days, about 11 days shorter than the Gregorian year, so Ramadan moves earlier each Gregorian year.
Can I add the Islamic dates to my calendar?
Yes. In Islamic dates mode, download the .ics file and open it in Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar.
