Shorten this link

How it works

  1. Paste the page you want people to land on.
  2. Fill in the source, the medium and the campaign name. Term and content are optional.
  3. Keep “Force lower case” on, so Facebook and facebook are not counted as two sources.
  4. Copy the tagged link, download its QR code, or make a short link from it.

Questions

What are UTM tags?

They are short labels added to the end of a link, such as utm_source=linkedin. Analytics tools such as Google Analytics read them and show where each visit came from.

What is the difference between source and medium?

The source is where the click came from, such as linkedin or newsletter. The medium is the type of channel, such as social, email or cpc for paid adverts.

When do I use term and content?

Use term for the keyword of a paid search advert. Use content to tell two links in the same campaign apart, such as the button and the banner in one email.

Will the tags change the page people see?

No. The page opens as normal. The tags are only read by your analytics.

Where does my link go?
