How it works

  1. Choose what to make: paragraphs, sentences, words or list items, and how many.
  2. Pick a length and a language: classic Latin, business English, business Arabic, French, Spanish, German or pirate-speak.
  3. Choose the output: plain text, HTML, Markdown or JSX.
  4. Copy the text or download it, and make a new variation if you want different words.

Questions

What is lorem ipsum?

It is scrambled Latin that designers have used as filler text for centuries. It looks like real text but does not distract readers from the layout.

Can I start with “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet”?

Yes. With classic Latin selected, turn on the option to start with the familiar opening words.

Why use business English instead of Latin?

Real-looking English shows how your design copes with actual word lengths and headings. It also helps people who review the mock-up read it naturally.

Can I paste it straight into my code?

Yes. Choose HTML, Markdown or JSX and the text comes wrapped in the right tags, ready to paste.
